Welcome to the Vydunas Youth Fund website!
Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 12:30 PM at the Lithuanian World Center in Lemont, Illinois, the Vydūnas Youth Fund is organizing an event to honor James "Big Jim" Liautaud and to present four $10,000 scholarships to Dominikas Mockus, Laura Stankevičiūte, Rimantas Grabliauskas, and Gerda Zigmantavičiūte. Gražina (Gina) Liautaud created these scholarships for business majors of Lithuanian descent in memory of her late husband "Big Jim" and will present them to the four students during this event. All of "Big Jim's" friends and relatives, members of the Collegiate Division of the Lithuanian Scout Assoc. and members of the Lithuanian community are welcome to attend the event. Please call Aldona Rauchas, tel. 708 598-7438 or email email@example.com to let her know who and how many will be attending the event.
The Vydunas Youth Fund provides more than 100 scholarships each year to lithuanian students and academic scouts in Lithuania, the United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia. Part of these scholarships were established by the Fund‘s Executive Board. The rest were created by generous donors, who established scholarship funds within the Vydunas Youth Fund and designated specific amounts be given as scholarships to students in various disciplines and specific universities. There are also several scholarships that are given to students, who are members of the Lithuanian Scouts Assn. Gražina Musteikis, Leonas Maskaliūnas, prof. Birutė Ciplijauskas, prof. Romualdas Viskanta, Stasė and Vaclovas Tallat-Kelpša scholarships support the higher education endeavors of our young students and encourage them to become creative and meaningful members of society.
We encourage our donors, who have the financial means...especially those who wish to memorialize family members who have passed away... to join these individuals and to create scholarship funds within the Vydunas Youth Fund. More information can be found in our „Scholarship creation guidelines.“
The 2016 $10,000 Gražina Musteikytė scholarship was awarded to the leader of the Lithuanian Girl Guide organization's Brownie Division and Toronto, Canada Brownie troop leader Kassandra Kulnys-Douglas. We congratulate Kassandra and wish her good luck and perseverance in the completion of her studies.
